Too often we find ourselves doing all in our power to please those around us while ignoring the impact that we are having on ourselves.
Our eyes swell with tears, our minds remain sombre and our hearts feel heavy and unsatisfied.
But still we press on.. Convincing ourselves that we are doing what’s right…
what we want….what we need…
When does enough become enough?
When do we start to dismiss that guilty feeling that overwhelms at the very thought of thinking about ‘me’?
Is that person thinking about your wellbeing when your living to please them and neglecting your own needs?
Its time to make a stand. A positive change.
Don’t be afraid to sit and think about what you want. Life is too short and tomorrow is not promised.
Ask yourself this question…if you die tomorrow…would you have any regrets…and are those regrets things that you could change at this very moment?
Being selfish is not always a negative trait…
It depends on the extent to which you are selfish. As with everything, there are extremists!
You need to love yourself enough to put yourself first in a healthy way..
‘My feelings can no longer be dictated by your emotions.
I’m not a light switch. I can not make myself not care so that your happy state remains constant.
I…Matter…To…Me’
Recite those words as many times as you need to in order for you to ATLEAST start to believe it…and START making a stand.
